Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of illnesses and disorders.  The acupuncture needle is the tool used by the acupuncturist, just as the scalpel is the tool of the surgeon. The acupuncture needle can remove inflammatory lumps, correct tissue adhesion, reduce muscle spasm and affect the central and autonomic nervous systems.

The result for both the acupuncturist and the surgeon is dependant on their knowledge of the human body and the skill they possess in using their tools.

Acupuncture is a therapy that follows the laws of nature but due to it’s complex nature many people have unrealistic expectations of what a single treatment can do.  This is often evident in musculo -  skeletal disorders.   Generally

  • muscle strains take 2  to 4 weeks to heal
  • severe ligament strains can take  6 – 12 weeks to heal

and these condition can be aggravated if the injury was not immobilised, rested and iced.  So to have 1 treatment for severe back strain and expect a miracle cure is unrealistic.  Acupuncture can however greatly speed up the body’s natural healing process by reducing congestion at the injury site, improving circulation, relieve pain, reduce spasm and stimulate the nervous system to activate the production of natural healing substances.

Acupuncture can treat  alot more than just muscle pain!

Neurological  conditions such as headaches, migraines, difficulty sleeping, nervous tension,

Digestive system disorders such as post-extraction pain gastric hyperacidity, gastritis, heartburn.

Gynaecological and obstetric disorders

such as premenstual tension, painful, heavy or irregular, or the absence of periods

Sporting injuries such as sprained ankles and knees, cartilage problems, corking and tearing of muscles, torn ligaments and bruises.

Psychological conditions such as emotional , anxiety, nervousness and addictions such as smoking.

(The effectiveness of  acupuncture in treating these conditions is verified by The World Health Organization.)

To Human Nurture,

"Just a quick note to thank John for his help the other day.
The visit was instrumental in resolving a constant neck / headache that I'd had for nearly eight weeks
which was exhausting me mentally and physically. I'd tried everything to feel better including numerous Doctors , Dentists and Osteopath visits, and I'd had my share of pain killers also.
Johns approach to my problem made sense & a difference ...Thank You John."

Kind Regards Glen Allan

NEW Maxi - Treatment.

To further enhance Acupuncture / Massage treatments we now use Infared Technology.

The Infared lamp projects a narrow band of infrared rays that are specifically suited to subsurface heating of the human body. This type of heat increases blood circulation to injured areas, promoting tissue repair.  Using the lamp helps heal soft tissue damage, strains, sports injuries and wound infections where localised warmth provides comfort and promotes the healing proces. The lamp has also been used successfully to reduce the unsightly effects of acne, neuro-dermatitis and

eczema.
